Qualifications & Responsibilities:

Deputy Chief Medical Officer - Health Services

Qualifications and Responsibilities:

The Deputy Chief Medical Officer (DCMO) is a key member of the CoreCivic Health Services management team and supports the leader of Correctional Medicine Associates, a limited Physicians Corporation consisting of providers serving patients in CoreCivic facilities. Position is located at the Facility Support Center (FSC) in Nashville, TN.

The successful candidate will support the development and implementation of the organization's clinical direction.

Facilitates and encourages effective business and professional relationships with CoreCivic leaders and medical directors of state and federal partners to ensure objectives are defined and met, and patient care complies with contractual and fiscal requirements.

Provides patient care as a leading member of the flexible, rapid medical response team (SURGE Team) through onsite and tele-health services.

Participates in administrative committees including, but not limited to Morbidity and Mortality, Peer Review, Credentialing and Talent Recruitment. Provides feedback and reports to the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) regarding clinical care issues arising from M&M reviews, granting of privileging based on peer review and credentialing committee activities, and recruitment of key physician and mid-level providers for Correctional Medicine Associates, PC. In the absence of the CMO, DCMO chairs these committees and ensures appropriate provider offer decisions are made for the medical PC.

Mentors, trains, guides and develops skill of medical and nursing providers.

Monitors providers' care to ensure it meets policy and accreditation standards and prevailing standards governing correctional medical care. Reports finding to Chief Medical Officer. Develops collaborative corrective actions to improve quality and efficiency.

Obtains and maintains applicable state licenses and government partner clearances for SURGE team purposes.

Domestic US travel is required.

Graduation from an accredited college or university with a medical degree (M.D. or D.O.) is required. Three years of correctional medicine , supervising mid-level and physician level providers is required. Experience in correctional medicine management as a state-wide medical director, regional medical directoror corporate medical director is preferred.  Must demonstrate strong medical leadership skills, communication skills and management acumen. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications is required. A valid driver's license is required.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Psychiatrist (Part-Time) - Lake Erie Correctional Institution

Qualifications and Responsibilities:

Typical duties include managing the operation and providing overall direction and leadership to the provision of mental health services to the facility. The Psychiatrist has the primary responsibility of providing administrative and clinical coordination for the comprehensive mental health program for the patients.

Must have active Ohio license, DEA and BLS or ACLS.

Position is part-time, up to 16 hours per week.

Lake Erie Correctional Institution is located in Conneaut, OH.  Conneaut is on the border of Pennsylvania.  The facility houses Ohio Department of Corrections male inmates.  The clinic has a 24 hour nursing staff. It has a medical staff, dental staff and mental health staff.

 

Nurse Practitioner - Nevada Southern Detention Center

The Nurse Practitioner under the supervision of the Physician, provides advanced nursing services and patient care in the facility's medical program.

Provides comprehensive nursing care to include, but not limited to, executing physician's orders, dispensing and administering medications and performing examinations and treatment of patients; performs a variety of procedures and treatments.

Orders, interprets and evaluates diagnostic tests to identify and assess patient's clinical problems and health care needs.

Records physical findings, formulates prognosis based on patient's condition and discusses case with physician and other health professionals to prepare comprehensive patient care plan.

Recommends drugs and other forms of treatment within the scope of licensure.

Accepts on-call status.

Must be licensed in Nevada and pass US Marshall clearance.

Position is a 24 hour a week position. South Central Correctional Center is an 8 hour a week position located in Clifton, TN. West Tennessee Detention Facility is a 16 hour a week position located in Mason, TN. West Tennessee may be done through tele-psychiatry.

Must have Tennessee license, DEA and BLS.

South Central Correctional Center is a Tennessee Department of Corrections facility and West Tennessee Detention Facility is a US Marshall, Bureau of Prisons and Department of Homeland Security. Both facilities have 24 hour clinics that have medical staff, mental health staff and dental staff.

 

 

Psychiatrist - Multiple Facilities in Tennessee

This is a full-time position covering:

Metro-Davidson County Detention Facility in Nashville, TN (24 hours per week)

South Central Correctional Center in Clifton, TN (8 hours per week)  

West Tennessee Detention Facility in Mason, TN (16 hours per week).  West Tennessee Detention Facility may be done through tele-psychiatry.

Must have Tennessee license, DEA and BLS.

Metro-Davidson County Detention Facility is located in Nashville, TN.  The facility houses male and female inmates for Davidson County.  The clinic is open 24 hours a day and is staffed with medical, mental health and dental staff.

Physician - Adams County Correctional Center

Adams County Correctional Facility is located in Natchez, MS.  It houses approximately 2500 male Bureau of Prisons inmates.  The facility has a full clinic with medical, dental and mental health staff.

Natchez, MS is located on the Mississippi River approximately 85 miles north of Baton Rouge, LA and 90 miles southwest of Jackson,MS.  Natchez has a variety of indoor and outdoor activities that include golfing, hunting, fishing, kayaking, casinos, museums and art galleries.

The Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant, under the supervision of the Physician, provides advanced nursing services and patient care in the facility's medical program.

Provides comprehensive nursing care to include, but not limited to, executing physician's orders, dispensing and administering medications and performing examinations and treatment of patients; performs a variety of procedures and treatments.

Orders, interprets and evaluates diagnostic tests to identify and assess patient's clinical problems and health care needs.

Saguaro Correctional Center houses Hawaii, Virgin Islands and US Marshall overflow adult male inmates.  There is a  clinic that has 24 hour nursing staff, provider coverage during the day, dental staff and mental health staff. 

 

Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant - Central Arizona - Florence Correctional Center- WEST

Qualifications and Responsibilities:

The Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant, under the supervision of the Physician, provides advanced nursing services and patient care in the facility's medical program.

Provides comprehensive nursing care to include, but not limited to, executing physician's orders, dispensing and administering medications and performing examinations and treatment of patients; performs a variety of procedures and treatments.

Florence  is located in Pinal County, approximately 60 minutes outside of Phoenix. It is conveniently located near several outdoor activities while still being able to enjoy the metropolitan lifestyle in Phoenix and Tucson.

Central Arizona Detention Center is an ICE, USMS facility that houses approximately 2300 adult male and female inmates.  There is a  clinic that has 24 hour nursing staff, provider coverage during the day, dental staff and mental health staff. 

 

 

Physician (Part-Time) - Florence Complex

Qualifications and Responsibilities:

Provide direction and leadership for the medical program in collaboration with the Health Services Administrator.

Must have active Arizona license with DEA,  BLS and/or ACLS.  Training  in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine or Emergency Medicine preferred.

Position is approximately 10 to 20 hours per week.

The position will work at Central Arizona - Florence Correctional Center - West and Central Arizona - Florence Correctional Center - East  in Florence, AZ.  Both facilities house US Marshall and ICE male inmates. Our clinics are 24-hour day clinics with dental staff, medical staff and mental health staff with Provider day coverage.

Bent County Correctional Facility is located in Las Animas, CO. Las Animas is approximately one hour east of Pueblo, CO.

The facility houses Colorado Department of Corrections male inmates. It has a 24-hour clinic that includes dental department, medical department and mental health department with provider day coverage.

 

Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant - Marion County Jail II

  Qualifications & Responsibilities:

The Nurse Practitioner, under the supervision of the Physician, provides advanced nursing services and patient care in the facility's medical program.

Provides comprehensive nursing care to include, but not limited to, executing physician's orders, dispensing and administering medications and performing examinations and treatment of patients; performs a variety of procedures and treatments.

Marion County Jail II  is located in downtown Indianapolis, Indiana.

The facility houses Marion County Sheriff's  male inmates and has a 24 hour clinic with a mental health department, medical department and dental department.

Dentist - (20 hours per week) Davis Correctional Facility

The Dentist is responsible for professional dental care for inmates.

Performs routine dental treatment including examining teeth and gums for cavities, infections and diseases; takes necessary x-rays; performs fillings and extractions as warranted.

Diagnoses and develops treatment plans for inmates.

Develops, coordinates and supervises the facility dental program to include advising and instructing inmates in the cause and prevention of dental disease.

Must have an active Oklahoma license with DEA and BLS

Davis Correctional Facility is located in Holdenville, OK approximately 70 miles northeast of Oklahoma City, OK.

The facility houses approximately 1700 male Oklahoma Department of Corrections male inmates.  The clinic has a nursing staff, mental health staff and a dental office. 

Dentist - Cimarron Correctional Facility

The facility houses approximately 1700 male Oklahoma Department of Corrections male inmates.  The clinic has a nursing staff, mental health staff and a dental office. 

Psychiatrist - Hardeman County Correctional Center and Whiteville Correctional Facility

Qualifications and Responsibilities:

On-site consultation, collaboration and supervision of Psychiatric Nurse Practitioners.

Conduct chart reviews for each facility.

Provide up to 16 hours per month, per facility for direct psychiatry caseload management.

Occasional consultation remotely with Psychiatric Nurse Practitioners

Position is part-time  ( 24 hours per month, per facility). Must have active Tennessee license, BLS and DEA.

Hardeman County Correctional Facility and Whiteville Correctional Facility are both in Whiteville, TN. Whiteville is about 40 miles east of Memphis, TN and 30 miles south of Jackson, TN.

Nurse Practitioner - Northeast Ohio Correctional Center

Qualifications and Responsibilities:

The Nurse Practitioner under the supervision of the Physician, provides advanced nursing services and patient care in the facility's medical program.

Provides comprehensive nursing care to include, but not limited to, executing physician's orders, dispensing and administering medications and performing examinations and treatment of patients; performs a variety of procedures and treatments.
