Qualifications and Responsibilities:
Provide a variety of professional medical services to inmates to include administering examinations, diagnosing medical and other problems, prescribing medications and providing treatment and follow-up care.
Monitor and review operations and standards of care delivered to inmates.
Make clinic rounds
Participate in treatment team meetings where individual health plans of inmates are devised, reviewed and altered.
Closely monitor all potential catastrophic illnesses.
Accept on-call status.
Must have active Arizona license with DEA, BLS and ACLS. Nurse Practitioners must have two years of primary care experience and currently certified by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners or the American Nurses Credentialing Center. Physician Assistants must have two years family Medicine or family practice experience and certification as a Physician Assistant by the National Commission of Certification of Physician Assistants.
About the Facility:
La Palma Correctional Center houses California as well as ICE male inmates. It has a full clinic with day provider coverage, 24-hour nursing coverage. The clinic has a dental staff, mental health staff and medical staff.
Eloy is located in West Central Pinal County, approximately 45 to 55 minutes outside of Phoenix
