Health care delivery in a correctional setting is challenging and rewarding. Position is part-time (8-hours per week)

Qualifications and Responsibilities:

Provide direction and leadership for the medical program in collaboration with the Health Services Administrator.

Monitor and review operations and standards of care delivered to inmates.

Participate in treatment team meetings where individual health plans of inmates are devised, reviewed and altered.

Closely monitor all potential catastrophic illnesses.

One year of directly related, professional experience performing professional or scientific work in a field of medicine that may involve direct patient care services is required.  Must have active, unrestricted California license to practice medicine required.  DEA, and BLS are required.  Training in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine preferred. Must be able to pass clearance.

Compensation: $120.00 - $150.00/hr.

About the Facility:

Otay Mesa Detention Center is located approximately 25 miles from the city of San Diego, CA. 

The facility houses approximately 2050 male and female ICE and US Marshall inmates.  The Facility has a 24-hour clinic with 24-hour nursing staff in the medical clinic. The clinic has medical staff, dental staff and mental health staff.
