Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner - Hardeman County Correctional Center/Whiteville Correctional Center

Qualifications and Responsibilities:

The Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner, under the supervision of the Physician, provides mental health services to the facility.

Monitors inmate population by completing rounds, and develops and implements treatment and therapeutic programs for the population.

Provides comprehensive psychiatric advanced nursing care to include, but not limited to,  dispensing and administering medications. 

Records findings, formulates prognosis based on patient's condition and discusses case with physician and other health professionals to prepare comprehensive patient care plan.

Recommends drugs and other forms of treatment within the scope of licensure.

Accepts on-call status.

Must be licensed in Tennessee with DEA and BLS or ACLS.

Position will work 20 hours per week at Hardeman County Correctional Center and 20 hours per Whiteville Correctional Facility.

About the Facilities: 

Hardeman County Correctional Center and Whiteville Correctional Center are located in Whiteville, TN. Whiteville is approximately 60 miles west of Memphis, TN.

Both facilities house Tennessee Department of Corrections male inmates.  Both facilities have clinics that have 24 hour nursing staff with mental health, medical, and dental provider coverage during the day.
