Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner - Northeast Ohio Correctional Center

Qualifications and Responsibilities:

The Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner, under the supervision of the Physician, provides mental health services to the facility.

Monitors inmate population by completing rounds, and develops and implements treatment and therapeutic programs for the population.

Provides comprehensive psychiatric advanced nursing care to include, but not limited to,  dispensing and administering medications. 

Records findings, formulates prognosis based on patient's condition and discusses case with physician and other health professionals to prepare comprehensive patient care plan.

Recommends drugs and other forms of treatment within the scope of licensure.

Accepts on-call status.

Must be licensed in Ohio with DEA and BLS or ACLS. Must be able to obtain US Marshall and ICE clearance.

Northeast Ohio Correctional Center is located on the Ohio/Pennsylvania border in Youngstown, OH. 

The facility houses US Marshall male inmates and has a 24 hour clinic with a mental health department, medical department and dental department.
